Riccardo Tisci has long been fascinated with religious iconography. For S/S 16 he looked to the posters, relics and comforts incarcerated men turn to, notably Christ himself. Jesus, the ultimate prison pin-up, was jostling for attention alongside the exotic, curvaceous girls that also decorate prison walls - bejewelled belles like Naomi Campbell, Candice Swanepoel, Irina Shayk, Joan Smalls, Kendall Jenner, who all walked in the show.
Nick Knight teams with stylist Katy England to celebrate and unpick Tisci's fascinations using pieces from his S/S 16 and A/W 15 Givenchy menswear collections. The themes of gang culture, incarceration and prison wall pin-ups that Tisci toys with inform the starting concept. England adds her own spin, creating her personal male pin-ups - fantasies that merge traditional, heterosexual masculinity with the unexpected and avant-garde, just like Tisci's shows. Models - each spread on a prison bed - act out her visions, transforming into sensual prison characters, from the pious worshipper to the work-out-obsessed body boy. The final images appear in print in AnOther Man magazine, while the shoot was streamed live on 22 July 2015.
